I couldn't help but notice as I was walking around the temple with
Nathan (seoulhero) and
Brian (gangwon notes)that even though the fire destroyed some priceless historic artifacts, levelled some wonderful temples, and generally did was fires tend to do--burned and burned. But through all of this, a year later, things were being rebuilt. Not only were old buildings being rebuilt, new buildings were being put up, and others were being rebuilt in slightly different places.
The place is getting an overhaul. For better or worse.

I particularly like the pictures of the lumber you posted, Joe; I had regretted not taking any photographs of the lumber after I came away.
I absolutely love your photos - thank you for posting them. Naksansa is my favorite place on the planet.
