Happy Lunar New Year!

I thought that Facebook would be a suitable substitute for my blogging. That has proven not to be true. I find that I often have things to say that just don't fit with a little wall post on Facebook.
So I'm back. I foresee a few differences though. I won't be keeping up with the university working conditions any more. It really does take a lot to keep them updated (even if it is only twice a year that I update them). I was getting daily emails about university jobs, how to get them, inquiries about specific openings, or the like and I just sort of ran out of patience with them.
I foresee this blog reflecting more of my studies, whatever direction that ends up taking. At this point, I've been focusing my research on EFL writing, collaborative writing, and affective filters as they apply to writing (instead of speaking as they are usually associated). I have to admit that doesn't sound like it will make for interesting blog posting. Keeping up with a blog does keep my writing. If I am writing regularly, it is easier to get into the right mindset to do the writing that I have to do for my studies.
I've been getting back into photography, so I'll post pictures regularly.
I'll be starting a new job this semester, so I'm sure I'll be writing about that. I'm still at the same university, but have been offered a job in the English Language and Literature department (before I was the curriculum coordnator and a teachcer in the General English Program which taught the required English courses to all university students. Now, I'll be teaching only English majors.) It is not only a new position for me, but it is also a new position for the department. As with anything new, there will undoubtedly be bumps in the road, and I'm sure I'll have things to share.
I'm working on the new National English Proficiency Test. I can't talk about it though, so don't expect any inside information.
I'll be updating my sidebar links to other Korean Blogs. It is incredibly out of date. Several of the bloggers have returned to the US/Canada/wherever. In the past few years, there are several others that have popped up that are worthy of a link.

Welcome back, Dr. Krashen. How may we lower your affective filter today?
For a while, there, this blog was set on "invitation only." I felt uninvited, like those zombies in that video game.
Thanks Kevin.
That 'invitation only' setting was my way of closing down the blog, but not quite being able to give it up completely.
Damn you and your inability to find closure! Let me guess: you still maintain a Facebook presence because you're unable to divorce yourself from that, too! Oh, the attachment!
On a more serious note, I sincerely hope your studies are going well. How much longer to the doctorate?
Whoa... I smell something. You just posted again, didn't you?
Joe,
good to see you back. Hopefully we can do another photography day trip somewhere before I leave the country.
