Some more photography

When you click on a picture, it takes you to my flickr page, where you can see many more pictures.

Here are a few more pictures from my trip to Hwaseong last month with Sean.
This is part of the wall on top of the hill.

It was cold; my skin was dry.

These are on the ceiling of the gate going into Hwaseong Fortress.

I particularly like the fact that you commented on your own skin condition : ) And, I love the photos of the wall. The varying textures and colors coupled with the uneven construction gives an organic feel. Thanks for posting; it gives someone who has not travelled much outside the U.S. a better perspective of the world.

Thanks Amber. I didn't realize my skin was dry until I looked at that picture!

I like those walls too, because you are right. The textures were great; the fact that the sun was getting low in the sky made for pretty harsh light. Which in turn made it easier to catch the texture.

Life in Korea is certainly different from life in Shasta County, but it is life none the less. One can choose to find the differences in the way people live or the similarities.

I think that expats tend to go through a cycle. They start off noticing the differences, holding on to the feeling is that 'they' are doing it wrong, and perhaps a little primitive even. When one realizes that different is just different, life becomes a whole lot better. (Though, locals still see many of the things I do as 'wrong,' I don't really care. Sometimes I adapt, sometimes I don't, and sometimes I do it their way just that one time).
